I wanted to create 2 personal images referring to Connie’s living room just as the bomb had hit it. My mother recalls the three flying ducks and a radio.

Firstly the backdrops were created with a repeat of a faceless soldier and a rose. After many attempts at monoprinting a rose I paid to download a clip art one. Shameful I know but I decided that life is short.

A repeated duck was created by drawing with a biro into a piece of Beryl Press Print Polystyrene. It was inked  up with oil based etching ink, wiped back and run under my etching press onto dry paper. The image was then scanned and manipulated in Photoshop. The smokes effect was added with the brush tool, soft light and low opacity.
