I was always fascinated by the rhyme "Ladybird, ladybird as a child. I want to use the lady bird theme throughout the exhibition. So I’m going to begin with a strong lady bird shape. Drawn, cut out and scanned into Photoshop-just bucket filled with colour.
The next thing is a bomb shape. I can’t quite believe the size of some of them. Apparently one of the most feared According to Constance was the Doodle Bug or flying bomb. A simplified bomb shape is then cut, scanned and bucket filled with colour.
I then play around with these two elements- repeating the lady bird. The design comes together quite quickly.
